Swirls of Foam
Awenda Provincial Park, Ontario - 2006

A field of granite boulders rounded over by the erosion of water and ice, graciously surrounded by elegant tendrils of foam.

Awenda Provincial Park is on the shores of Georgian Bay, the constant waves and wind coming off Lake Huron create an ever changing landscape. Foam on the surface of the water takes only seconds to change into something totally different. Yet the granite boulders that the foam encircles will take many, many years to noticeably alter. This shoreline is likely much the same as it was centuries ago, yet with the passage of time it subtly changes each and every second.
