Snow Storm and Meadow
Alliston, Ontario - 2006

Taken in a driving snow storm in which the wind was blowing the snow parallel to the ground. A nasty day and people who passed me standing in a ditch up to my knees in snow taking pictures must have thought "he must be insane". But I simply could not resist what I saw, a barrier of young pine tress with their sides covered in snow separating the road from a bright meadow behind. The contrasts and textures grabbed me and I turned the car around to capture it.

This image clearly falls in "The Sacrifices We Make" category, but I think the snow blown into my ears while standing still composing it was worth it.
