Last Snowfall - Gothic Tracery
Mansfield, Ontario - 2006

This picture taught me a very important photographic credo I have lived by ever since, "Always Turn Around". I was intently snapping "Last Snowfall - Silence" when I turned to return to my car and there before me was this image. The wet snow had clung to all the branches forming a cathedral of gothic proportions in the branches and twigs. This tracery only lasted a few minutes as the wind and weight of the snow caused most of it to fall off just after I snapped this picture.

From that day forward wherever I am, whatever I'm shooting I will always look behind me. You never know when God has yet another treasure for you to see, and all you have to do is look.
