Shale Riverbed
Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, Ontario - 2006

The Forks of the Credit is a beautiful provincial park around the Credit river gorge. The river has been used for many purposes over the years including an early hydo generation station, the ruins of which are still on this site. The riverbed at this point is shale and has been washed over for thousands of years. The fracturing of this rock into layers, the gentle wash of water (less than a hundred feet away from this point is a thunderous waterfall) and the reflections of light captivated me.
