Nature Prevails
Loretto, Ontario - 2007

An abandoned farm slowly rotting to nothing, and inside the drive shed a poplar tree makes a valiant attempt to grow and survive. Somehow this tree has managed to establish itself in an impossible location and the lack of light and air has caused it to become wildly distorted in reaching for whatever nourishment it can find.

This tree is a reminder that nature will prevail regardless of whatever we do to the environment; and whatever we build will eventually crumble and dissolve.
