Harvest End
Mono, Ontario - 2006

A scene I spotted on my drive home from work that I could not resist shooting. I love light as it reflects off water even if that water is nothing more than a mud puddle. The sky was glorious after a rainstorm earlier in the day, and the setting sun and cloud patterns created an amazing pallet of colours and shapes. I kept scouting for a suitable image to shoot against such a glorious backdrop and suddenly there it was in the mud of a harvested corn field.

I was struck by the reflection of clouds in the puddles, and the patterns formed by the tractor tire impressions in the mud. A stunning contrast in tone, texture, sky and earth.
