Frosty Spider Web
Crooked Bay, Ontario - 2006

I had pulled over at the side of highway 400 to take pictures of an inlet of Six Mile Lake (which can been seen in the background) in the early spring of 2006. There was a layer of frost on the ground, and mist was rising off the water. As I moved to get a better angle of the water I almost walked right into this spider web created across the branches of a Sumac bush. The early morning dew had frozen on the web leaving an elegant tracing of light defining the shape and structure of the web.

Photographs such as this are gifts from God. He lead me to that spot on that frosty morning, showed me a small miracle and invited me to ponder the awe inspiring beauty that is His world. This picture always attracts a great deal of attention when I show it, and it remains one of my favorites.
