Approaching Storm
Alliston, Ontario - 2006

Inclement weather make for some of the most dramatic opportunities for photography. This day was no exception with brilliant sunlight to the south and an ominous storm sweeping in from the north. Based on the direction of light I drove to one of my favorite pine trees just outside of Alliston which I've always been frustrated in shooting. The fields behind had just been ploughed and the light was hitting the furrows in sheets and the storm was moving in very fast and rapidly changing the light conditions. I like this shot for it's drama, but it still does not do justice to this magnificent pine tree.
